Sustainability Innovating with Nonwovens—ANEX 2024

As one of the three major non-woven fabric exhibitions in the world, the Asia Non-woven Fabric Exhibition and Conference (ANEX) grandly opened in Taipei, China on May 22nd and 24th. This year, the theme of the ANEX exhibition is set as “Sustainability Innovation with Nonwoven”, which is not only a slogan but also a beautiful vision and firm commitment to the future of the non-woven fabric industry. Below is a summary of the melt-blown nonwoven fabric technology, products, and equipment that appeared in this exhibition.

The new market is gradually developing through clues, and the demand for high temperatures and special application scenarios is constantly expanding. Melt-blown fabrics made of special materials are constantly emerging in new application markets by changing raw materials, optimizing processes, and closely cooperating with downstream customers. At present, some domestic enterprises can produce special materials such as PBT and nylon melt-blown fabrics. Similar to the situation encountered by the above enterprises, due to market size limitations, further expansion is still needed in the future.

Air filtration materials are the most typical application of melt-blown nonwoven fabrics. They take on different forms through changes in fiber fineness, fiber structure, polarization mode, and are applied in different levels of air filtration markets such as air conditioning, automobiles, purifiers, and other scenarios.

Face Masks are the most well-known products in the field of air filtration for meltblown nonwoven fabrics. According to the usage scenarios, it can be divided into medical, civilian, labor protection, etc. Each category has strict industry and national standards. Internationally, diversified standards such as American and European standards are also distinguished.

Meltblown nonwoven fabric (polypropylene material) exhibits excellent performance in the field of oil absorption due to its ultra-fine fiber structure, hydrophobicity and lipophilicity, and lightweight characteristics. It can absorb 16-20 times its weight of oil pollution and is an indispensable environmentally friendly oil-absorbing material  for ships, ports, bays, and other water areas during navigation.

The ANEX 2024 exhibition has underscored the pivotal role of sustainable innovation in driving the future of melt-blown nonwovens, setting the stage for transformative advancements in the industry.
